SAVTE recruits and trains volunteers to teach English to the most excluded and isolated people in Sheffield. Our English language courses will help you achieve the necessary English language level needed to start any of our programmes. The length of your course and start date will depend on your English language ability and when you hope to start your International Foundation Year or Pre-Masters.
We cater for and look after people from all over Sheffield providing ESOL, training, support, stability and advice in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment. Our English Language Support (ELS) courses are provided for foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students at The University of Sheffield who would like to develop their academic literacy, English language and communication skills. Our language volunteers help learners in their communities or in their homes. The English Language Support Unit (ELSU) provides students with all support, resources and facilities they need to study at under and postgraduate level in the medium of English.
