On the other hand, the Avent bottle only has three choices so far: 4 ounces, 9 ounces, and 11 ounces, giving fewer choices at hand as compared to Dr. Brown’s bottles. Leaking Dr Browns bottles! Why in the hell do these damn things leak out the nipple collar?
Or if the bottle is shaken to mix formula the liquid may enter the vent and leak. I’ve tried everything, they still leak. Under certain conditions the breastmilk or formula can exit through the vent. I recently tried an 8 oz bottle and haven’t boiled it yet and noticed it doesn’t leak. However, it is interesting to note that while Dr. Brown’s bottles are intended for smaller babies, the Avent bottles seem to be ideal for older babies who can take up to 11 ounces of milk or formula in one go. My baby likes Dr. Brown’s bottles so we keep using them but be warned.
You do have more stuff to clean but as long as you rinse out the bottle after you feed then the cleaning process isn't so bad when it comes to the actual cleaning. It would end up being slightly more than the max fill line, and while swirling the bottle, some of the formula would get in between the top of the vent piece and the bottle itself. Anyway I would suggest you try Dr. Brown's bottles..

Both of these issues caused them to leak. My baby likes Dr. Brown’s bottles so we keep using them but be warned. If there is even a little milk in the vent they will leak. For example if the liquid is overheated the expanding air inside the bottle pushes the liquid through the vent causing leakage.
